Falling forward

I'm back in LA baby!! And it feels soooo good ;) I've been back for a week already and it's been crazy. I definitely got an annual pass to Disneyland, and have already checked out a bunch of the new places to eat in long beach (where I'm staying for a few weeks).

Victoria's Secret Pink T-shirt, Ray ban sunnies

It's like I never left the Bay Area! Just kidding :) here I am on "pier 39" in Disney's California adventure.

And here I am with our new Dumbo! Spencer and I totally rigged one of the games and both played two water guns mawhahahha. We have a thing for elephants :)

Anyways, with fall coming up all I can think about is my birthday and Halloween!!!! My favorite time of the year!

Of course, living right on the beach makes it feel like summer will last forever. Here's a shot I took on my run yesterday. Long beach had a tiki fest with Hawaiian entertainment. And of course the dog park always makes me miss my favorite running buddies.

The lillies spencer got for me also remind me of an eternal spring :)

Last night was my last day of summer sooooo back to Disneyland (I may have a problem).

I did find a VEGAN FRIENDLY MEAL in Disneyland!!! Veggie bowl!!! In New Orleans square right above pirates.

Perfect for front row seats at fantasmic ;)

Today I had my first day of class at csu fullerton!!! I had so much fun walking around campus, the energy was amazing. My credential program is going to be intense but right now I just have to remember to...

;) Wildfox, never fails to read my mind.

Until I can get to the beach though, I'm going to keep listening to my new music and drinking these bad boys:
Yerba Mate teas. Each bottle has the same amount of caffeine as one cup of coffee, but instead of cold Starbucks drinks, these only have 60 calories a bottle and are filled with yummy organic nutrients. I adore them, they are a little pricey though so I'm hoping that as they become more popular the price will go down... Fingers crossed!

Now to leave you all with some of the new music I'm currently loving. First up is Bruno Mars "Natalie", honestly one of my favorite songs of his.

Next up is a soft jam by "Lorde". Her real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor and she's a 16 year old New Zealand singer-songwriter that is racing to the top of the alternative charts. Check out her single "Royals". Perfect for bike rides or slow drives going no where in particular.

And lastly, "Elephant" by Tame Impala. (Elephant obsession, I'm telling ya). Another alternative beat that is just too easy to fall in love with. All of these songs are available on itunes.

Back to studying, Ciao Ciao

Current Inspirations

I'm getting ready to move! So I've been packing a lot and going through inspirational pics to help me plan my decorations. Can't wait xo

I've been watching the Adams family while packing ;)

Oh and the new skins :)

Seahorse candle and a picture I want to find online and print.

Work was kinda crazy today so I got this wine, my love of butterflies continues :) and it's from the year I graduated college! Huzzah.

Here's a photo I took from when the kids and I were blowing bubbles onto spider webs, can you find the web? :)

I'd like to leave you all on this note:

If you haven't already seen the movie "Mermaids" with Cher, Winona Ryder, and Christina Ricci (all dancing above) I highly recommend it! It's extremely quirky and funny, a perfect movie to watch with your girlfriends or alone with your dog and tea while packing...

Change is coming...

It's almost time for me to move AND it's almost my favorite time of the year: Fall.

Changing colors, crisp air, my birthday, halloween, and so much pumpkin food mmmmmmmm

Not to mention fall fashion. Summer clothes are cute and all, and I love running around in bikinis but there is nothing like fall fashion. Nothing.

I was going through different look books and had to show you some pictures from Revolve Clothing.

I have recently become obsessed with black maxi dresses and skirts, so of course I freaked out when I saw the sequin black maxi skirt. The best part? It's by Wildfox!? Of course they would make a goth mermaid like skirt. I adore it. Here's hoping it ends up in one of their sample sales *cross my fingers*

I'm also in love with the tight leather looking pants and big sweater combo. The pants are by Anine Bing and you can get both outfits from the Revolve Clothing website

You can also check out this hottie rocking leather overalls...which look awesome with no shirt underneath but a little strange with one (see website).

So obviously being a Wildfox addict and all I had to check out more of their new bottoms. Also on revolve are these babies:

Which just screams Jessica Rabbit to me ...

Wildfox pants that remind me of a Disney movie? Yes Yes YES

It's not fall JUST yet though. I need to give August a break. I haven't been able to wear my new rainbow bikini as much as I was hoping but when I'm done with work and am living in Long Beach that will all change. This music video reminded me of Hawaii, sunsets, and all things summer (and as you can guess my rainbow bikini ;)  :

Enjoy, relax, and chill xo

Other things I've been inspired by include  the new gatsby movie, and re-reading the book itself. It's one of my all time favorites so I love that all the styles are being re-vamped thanks to the movie (which was an eyegasm and is coming out on DVD and blue ray soon).

I love their hair pieces and I've always been into headbands. Nordstroms carries the brand Cara new york and she has marvelous head bands, including the one I got yesterday:

I look more rocker hippie than gatsby girl, but the silk goes better with summer. I'm looking for a good velvet or wool one for fall that really screams "flapper girl". Comment if you know a good place to find one! Ill let you know when I find a good one too ;)

Here are some other headbands on my birthday wish list (by Tasha my new headband obsession also at Nordstroms):

Lately I've also been inspired by my dogs:

And the haunted mansion in Disneyland ;)

Till next time

Racing towards... Wait where am I going again?

Here's AT&T park at field level :) It looks unreal when there's no one there huh?

That whole white part is where the finish line for the Giant Half Marathon was. Sigh, I had so much fun, I love race days...

Before the race though! Saturday I spent the day in walnut creek with Clare. She introduced me to Brandy Melville and I am just loving their basic pieces like this black maxi dress. Perfect to wear under some chunky sweaters this fall ❤

I also got a velvet crop top (I've been trying to get some velvet into my wardrobe for years now and finally found a top I liked!!) and a crystal-bullet shell necklace (mine is a white pink and Clare got a matching purple one).

Clare left me alone in Barnes and noble for too long... Ended up finding my spirit animal chibiusa ❤ I need to find all my old manga books...

                         ^preach!!

Ok, now for race day!! The shirts they gave us were a really nice running fabric and I loved having my lucky number 13 on the back (it's for the year but whatever).

Kt tape for kk! This stuff is godly I can't tell you enough. If you run, or do anything active but get an injury, use this tape!! You can buy it and see helpful videos here.

Can't take you today :( sorry pup

Made it!

Ready to go!! We started the race in front of AT&T park...
So many people.

Here is the course that we did. We ran from AT&T park to the golden gate and back. My two favorite things to do during a race are sprinting across the finish line (even if I can't feel my feet)...

And people watching!
Runners ❤ bananas

Bare foot running in sf? Gnarly dude...

Breakfast of champions

We did it!!! Now we have to make some room in our shadow boxes :)

We ate (a lot) at the ramp after the race. Love the speakeasy sign out front, the place is realllllly casual so we weren't embarrassed to be sweaty and gross from the race. You do sit outside though so bring a jacket and order a hot drink if you go!

I'm almost ready to leave for Southern California. I'm just winding down, finishing up the nanny job and saying goodbye to everyone up here.

Artsy inspirational post coming up next ;)

Ciao ciao,

One direction and into the woods

Yup. It happened.

I went to my first pop concert.
How? Well luckily I got paid to do it ;) I took the two older girls I nanny and one of their friends to see One Direction.

The amount of estrogen in that stadium was almost too much, and let me tell you, little girls can scream like no other. I was pretty much dreading the concert because I have no idea who one direction is besides one song but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!

First of all, the Irish one is a highly entertaining dancer and second of all, I had no idea they had accents!!! Automatic swoon.

They also did covers of weezer songs so I at least knew some songs ;)

Less than eight hours later, I was back to work with the lil guys:

Never too far from butterflies.
My lil tree climbers ❤
Are you guys being safe up there?

                                           Wildfox Couture Metamorphosis Butterfly Tee.

We're always up for adventures :)

Tomorrow Clare bear and I are going shopping and then doing a photo shoot!!
Should be oodles of fun. I'm on the hunt for the perfect black maxi skirt.

I'm also trying to decide between this black crochet bikini bottom or...

This white one:

Both are by a love story by AF

Hmmm, hopefully I decide by tonight :p

More work to do!

Cheers,
Kk
