New blooms and my new summer uniform

Ladies and gentlemen may I introduce my new favorite outfit and my baby plants!!!

I can't even begin to describe how perfect this two piece set is!! The top is a halter top with two different ties, so just imagine two bows on the back :) The bottom piece is a skort (something I haven't owned since elementary school). I tore it open as soon as I got it and wore it for the rest of the day while gardening. It's from Beginning boutique and the reason why I am obsessed with their store now.

Click here to go to Beginning Boutique's online store (scroll down to see me on their homepage!!)

Hey there!

Here are some new sunflowers that just started sprouting! I found out this week that it's extremely important to use ONLY organic seeds! Seeds that are not organic usually have the pesticide "neonicotinoid". Neonicotinoids are an insecticide that have a similar chemical make up to nicotine. If your seeds arnt organic, they probably have Neonicotinoids in them, which means if your planting "bee friendly" plants but they're not organic, they're actually killing the bees!!!

I had to toss out some seeds I had that weren't organic and start all over with organic seeds:

These seeds might not be organic, but they were a present from the boy :)

I got the day off on Friday so Spencer and I decided to take a morning walk through Disneyland! I'm excited to see the park is planting wildflowers! (Good for bees)

Taking a stroll around the castle ❤️

Dressing up for Disneyland is always half the fun! Wildfox is usually my go to for Disney. Their clothes are quirky, comfy, and usually the perfect pastel colors for Disneyland!

The tights I wore were another easy go to: DKNY thigh high look a likes! If your a shorter lady like myself, you know how difficult it gets to find the perfect thigh high that stays put and doesn't squeeze the wrong areas. Just toss on a jersey dress and bam! Done.

Sweatshirt: Wildfox "I'm really a unicorn"
Tights: DKNY
Boots: Enzo Angiolini

I win!!!

Since I live so close... We usually go home to eat lunch and nap haha I wasn't sleepy so I did another outfit change:

Dress: free people

What is going on right now???

Sometimes you make big plans for the weekend, and then sometimes Mother Earth decides your grounded instead...

This Friday I got hit with a 5.5 magnitude earthquake that was just a few miles away from my apartment. Now, I don't have the studiest apartment. When the big one hit our floors were rolling like waves... It was a little nerve wracking. The worst part was the after shock though, medium size earthquakes kept hitting us every four minutes. Blah.

Above is a map of all the earthquakes from Friday. The yellow circles are the 4.5 and 5.5 quakes. The earth was a rocking and a rolling for sure.

I decided I would rather be on the rolling ocean than rolling land so a few friends and I went on a boat cruise in Newport Beach.
With the boy ❤️ he knows the best way to calm me down is taking me to the ocean.

Wearing: Wildfox strawberry fields tank and Juicy Couture jacket (normally not as puffy... It twas windy ;) ) and boyfriend jeans from Brass Plum.

Stay safe sealions!

After a boat ride we went back to the beach to watch the sunset:

Purple haze💜
Lil Charlie keeping watch.

All in all it was a wonderfully relaxing day :)

Later that night we came back to my place where I found my newest edition of Vogue magazine. I'm a subscriber so I get them every month... But I was NOT happy about the cover this month. Don't get me wrong I like Kanye as a musician, but he and the kardashians do not belong on the cover of Vogue (in my opinion). I know people like Naomi are being very diplomatic with this issue but I'm gonna be honest and just say I was disgusted. The real knife in the back was Annie Leibovitz  took the photos of "kimye". I love Anna and Annie more than words can describe. This was just heart breaking though. A picture of Kim taking a selfie with her baby as Kanye takes a picture of them from an iPad??? The momager whatever- her-name is smiling like a crazy clown as Kim tries to look regal?? And the garage picture?? Kim looks lifeless laying over the car... She's not interacting with Kanye or the car or even the photographer, and She definately could have moved her body into more flattering positions. Ug. Just ug.

Spencer captured my rant on film:

So disgusted...

I almost threw it away without opening it but I had seen pictures of Karlie Kloss' Photoshoot on tumblr and just couldn't get myself to do it. So I improved it instead...

Hope everyone that was near the earthquakes are doing ok! Also my new earthquake app tells me Hawaii, Alaska and Montana are getting hit hard to (and China??) so my thoughts go out to everyone there as well!!

Marathon training... The countdown begins

It's almost time!! My first marathon is happening in May, right after my graduation, Ashlee's bachelorette, and right before her wedding. Eep!

Last weekend I got up to 18 miles running from Playa Del Rey to Santa Monica and back.

It was so beautiful out! And surprisingly, I felt fantastic during my run! I've been drinking a new tea called "tiny tea" from the Your Tea company, and it's made my workouts much more meaningful. Tiny tea helps equal out my digestive system which gives me more energy throughout the day (perfect for training!). It has also been clearing up my skin (I usually get stress breakouts but haven't had them all week) and definately eliminates any bloating I used to have!

These two pictures are day 1 and day 3... Just three days of Tiny Tea!! You have to drink tiny tea thirty min before each meal, so it also encourages me to wake up earlier and plan out each meal (instead of mindless eating).

Order yours at www.yourtea.com

Gearing up for my marathon also means I've changed my diet around. I've completely given up alcohol which was not easy with St Patricks day... No pizza, no burgers, and no Annie's max and cheese either!!

Thankfully my friends didn't harass me too much on st Patricks day... Kinda

Top: Wildfox Couture
Jacket: The Gap

Luckily my cravings haven't been that bad. It's also given me an opportunity to try out more vegan recipes (posted soon)!

Ciao ciao for now,
Kk

Hair appreciation post

If you haven't already seen… Dolce and Gabbana had their models done up with magical pastel colored, braided, and flower adorned hair for their Spring/Summer 2014 runway. I'm ready for Spring time xoxo

Some more hair-spiration:

This one (below) is actually one of my favorites. I just need to learn how to do the hair roses..

I'm pretty sure my love of pastel hair with flower headbands started when I first saw my favorite movie:
Marie Antoinette

What hair styles are you going to experiment with this Spring?

The British are coming!! Wildfox nyfw 2014 show

New York fashion week is just around the corner! I actually dropped off my friend at LAX yesterday for her flight to New York! She works for Rodarte, and I'm so excited for her (although I know it's going to be super hectic for her as well).

Wildfox, however, has already completed their fashion show! The Fall 2014 line drew inspiration from Jane Austin, England, and "sisters".  While the brand normally emulates the sunny lifestyle that is Los Angeles, Creative Director Kimberly Gordon grew up in the UK, and I'm sure the collection is inspired by some of her own childhood memories.

The models in the show were all given extensions to create "mermaid hair", keeping in tune with their most recent look book release: Wildfox Lagoon.

Another familiar face for the brand is the lovely @flowergirllosangeles pictured below.  You've seen her work in the last look book (wildfox lagoon) and based on some behind the scenes shots, you'll be seeing her work again in the fall 2014 look book. Follow her on instagram for some magical, beautiful, and breathtaking images of her flower arrangements! (Oh, and she was also in a super bowl commercial this year with her adorable baby!)

I'm sure this is going to be a very popular item next year…

My favorite part about this runway has to be the fresh flowers in the girls hair. I know New York is freezing right now and that this is a fall collection, but the flowers just make me long for Spring and Summer (I'm also a sucker for roses).

So magical
