Fall Fashion: hat and hair accessories

So it may still be scorching hot here in LA (umm hello, it's September...), but I'm getting extremely excited for fall fashion, especially for hair accessories!!

Headbands and turbans have made a strong comeback, giving us all the opportunity to channel our inner rock star or Gatsby girl whenever we want. Free People and Nordstrom have vibrant fabric headbands in a variety of textures to help take your basic outfit to the next level this fall.

Big floppy hats are always in for fall. Tie your hair into braids or a low messy bun before pulling a big floppy crochet or felt hat on. Or let your hair dry naturally to create an effortlessly cool-chick look.

Felt bucket hats (or Cloche hats), like the ones seen at the Kate Spade New York Fall 2013 fashion show are best worn with a low bun or smooth, styled hair for a preppier look (we are talking about Kate Spade NY here). Take a cue from Blair Waldorf and rock your inner upper east sider this Fall.

The queen of hat trends for Fall 2013? Beanies. Say goodbye to bad hair days and hello to easy stylish comfort. Take inspiration from Tracy Reese's Fall 2013 show (on the left) and Free Peoples new beanies (on the right, on model Karlie Kloss).

Urban Outfitters has a wide selection of beanies ranging in style (and low in price!!). Here are a few of my favorites from Urban:

My all time favorite beanies?? Wildfox Couture double layered White Label beanies! (Shocker).
Spencer gave me this one as an early Birthday Present:
(It's way too hot to wear it yet though!)

One headpiece to store this fall and winter? FLOWER HEADBANDS. Yes. I love Lana Del Rey, I love roses, I love the idea of having flowers in your hair, but flower headbands are not for Fall and Winter!

(Awwwwwwwwwwwwww)

Not unless all the flowers are black ;)
Only then is it ok.

Nor Cal to So Cal Road Trips

My second to last road trip down to LA was a fun one with my friend Natasha. I was going down for a Chardonnay run with my cousin in Santa Barbara then to visit people in Long Beach (and helplessly end up in Disneyland, as usual).

Instead of my solo drive down the 5, I picked up Tash and headed down the 101. We made a lot (a lot, a lot) of stops along the way! One of which was the Madonna Inn, a personal favorite =) (THEME! CRAZY THEMES!!)

We had the greatest Cesar Salad before splitting a slice of carrot cake (and had a million cups of coffee in between). The goblets at the table (see above) were so amazingly awesome that we each got one... and then got another for our friend that was letting us crash with her.
