New York Fashion Week - Marc by Marc Jacobs and Badgley Mischka Spring 2014

Leave it to Marc Jacobs to make me wish it was Spring before Summer is even over. His Marc by Marc Jacobs show is currently going on in New York City (it's 2pm CA time), and the designs are to die for.

First: the perfect jumper.
Not only does this jumper immediately catch everyone's attention, it also directs said attention to all the right areas. Using only two colors and a similar pattern for the entire garment, Marc Jacobs draws the eye from the chest immediately down to the woman's waist. The dark collar, belting, and wrists emphasize the daintier parts of the female body perfectly while the loose flowing fabric gives the wearer complete comfort.

The pants below use a similar pattern but in a light pink color instead of white. I absolutely love the idea of these pants with a Spring wedge shoe, the same white tank, similar necklace,  then ditch the ascot and add a cool fedora.

Unfortunately Marc loves the ascots way more than I do. We were on the same wavelength with this all over sequins jumper though.

While most of us can't (or will choose not to) rock an all over long sleeve/pant jumper covered in sequins for Spring, we can all agree that this adorable a frame sequin dress is perfect for Spring time. I'm hoping the white sleeves are under the dress, not attached, but am loving it with sneakers. Of course  being the shorty that I am I would probably wear it with booties or wedges for Spring.

I also loved how much silk he used in his collection. A lot of his dresses felt very 20s with the beige and red designs. The outfit below kept with the 20s style, but gave it a modern twist by adding the parachute pants instead of a dress or skirt.

Ok, now for the show that is the first one to come close to challenging the Versace 2012 Spring RTW as my favorite fashion show of all time, Bradgley Mischka Spring 2014.

The theme of the show? Just ask Peter Gray: "Well, Mark and James kept talking about Jacque Henri Lartigue's seaside photography and the city of Atlantis, so we all agreed on mermaids."

No wonder I loved it.

Not only did they do a mermaid theme, but they also worked in a 20s style vibe ALONG with a modern twist of crop tops and maxi dresses. I'll let the clothes do the talking... (grab some kleenex, the dresses are THAT gorgeous).

Ok so this dress below is not one of my favorite looks, but the picture includes the back of the dress above which IS PERFECTION ON EARTH.

This is my favorite evening dress from the collection:

Embellishments for days. I love it.

All of these 20s inspired styles just make me want to watch the Great Gatsby over and over again. Speaking of, I have a little surprise relating to the Great Gatsby ;) but I can't share jussssst yet. Soon though. Very very very soon =)

Also to look forward to: my sephora haul comes tomorrow, so get ready for some beauty reviews!

Ciao ciao,
Kk
